Nauvoo

We went to Nauvoo November 29-Dec 2 for a wedding that Dustin booked, and I am so glad that I was able to go with him. I love being able to go to places with him because I love experiencing new things and places with him. It is also a nice little vacation to reconnect, and to just be together. We flew into St. Louis and we just had to see the famous arch, and it was pretty neat. We then drove to Nauvoo. We shot the wedding on a Friday at Nauvoo then we drove to Kansas to do the reception.

We had so much fun the whole time we were there, we love both the bride and grooms family. They are both so hilarious. The night before the temple we were able to go and visit with their families and we were able to get to know them better.

It was such a beautiful wedding and we were able to get some photos of us thanks to Kimbra, the sister of the groom.

We had such a good time. When we drove to Kansas there was an ice storm that we drove through and we wanted to see Carthage, when we got there it was closed, we thought we would go and ask the people that live on the property. We were able to go into Carthage and see the jail it was so awesome to see. I'm so glad that we were able to go and see it.

O Christmas Tree..

This year since we are in with our in laws, we don't have much room for a Christmas tree much less anything else, but I had to fit in a tree somewhere, so after much moving around things and placing them in different places we finally had room for our Christmas tree. The kids were so excited to decorate the tree so they called over our cousin and had her come over to help. This year Madison was able to put the tree topper on which is our Santa.

Its funny to watch kids decorate a tree. I think that they only see one place on a tree and put all of the decorations on that spot. We had many gaps on the tree, but with the help of Kimmy the tree looks pretty even.

Cameron even got in the fun but he just played with the ornaments since he cant really decorate it yet.

Thanksgiving

I know it has been forever since I have posted so here are a few posts for everyone

For the past two years we go to a friends house for Thanksgiving, and this year was so fun, when everyone was gone we still weren't wanting to go home. We love being included in their family. The Thanksgiving dinner was so delicious, I usually don't like yams, but I loved the candied yams that they had. Just thinking about it makes me want some more turkey dinner. I am looking forward to going to their Christmas party. Last year I wasn't able to attend because Kyleigh and I were coming home from Florida on Christmas eve. This year we will be able to attend though.

I am so grateful that they invited us last year, becuase our families the past few years don't do a traditional Thanksgiving feast, and it is something that I love doing and being around. I am hoping that in the next few years when we are settled in a house of our own that we will be able to host our own Thanksgiving feast. It is such a great thing to do, to spend time with friends and family.

We also look over the ads wondering which store we will hit first because we like going out and doing all of that crazy holiday shopping. Some people love going out and ca,ping out and others like staying in their warm bed staying away from the crazies. :) We are the ones that stand in line freezing our butts off all night for a few good deals.

Cameron loves boxes

About 2 weeks ago Dustin had a box with some styrofoam squiggilies in it and we thought that we would put Cameron in it because he loved grabbing at them when Dustin opened the box. So I grabbed the camera and took some pictures! I love how easy it is to entertain babies. They find joy in almost anything! It would be so much easier if we all could enjoy life like children do.

Pictures of our Adorable kids!

The other day we had Heidi of Retrospect Studios take pictures of our kids. BTW there are more photos on their blog. We scheduled the shoot pretty far in advance, and I kept looking forward to the date. When the day finally arrived...it was raining...but I wanted these pictures so bad nothing would stop me. I knew that they had rain boots, rain coats, and umbrellas. I have been wanting pictures in the rain for a long time, and when I called Heidi, I thought she would still be delighted to do these type of pictures, or at least I was hoping. As it turned out she was super excited to do these. When we got to the park and she started taking pictures I knew that these would be fantastic. After we got done at the park we went to their studio to get some more pictures of the kids, mostly of Cameron.

She was super creative and even made a boat for the girls to put in the water. As she was taking the pictures I knew that she was connecting with our girl's. Afterwards Kyleigh asked Heidi if she could stay the night at their house. It was so sweet. Kyleigh keeps asking us when the next time we can go to their studio.

I kept stalking their blog just waiting to see the pictures, not expecting them so soon. Then tonight Dustin came and got me from laying in bed to see them. When we saw them we were both so excited. We also both got tears in our eyes when we saw them.

I absolutely love having other photographers take photos of our family, because I love to see their style. It is also much easier to have someone else take pictures of the kids. I can't wait to get prints of these pictures. I am excited to order a large canvas of these pictures!

Madison lost her first tooth tonight

Tonight Madison and kyleigh were wrestling around the livingroom and
fell together. Madison started crying real hard because I thought she
hit her head. I picked her up to comfort her and she laid her head on
my shoulder but wouldn't stop crying like she normally does. So I
pulled her off to ask where it hurt and she was bleeding alot with her
front tooth hanging very low. My heart sank and was broken. I felt so
bad for her. I pulled the tooth the rest of the way out quite easily.
Her little jaw was quivering and it was so sad. She is all better now
though and excited the tooth fairy is coming tonight.

Halloween

We had so much fun last night. The weather was the best it has been in the 5 years since Kyleigh has been born, so we started early and got lots of candy! There was also a house in our neighborhood that was serving hot dogs and hot chocolate, so we were able to eat something good. (They are trustworthy neighbors btw). Madison and Kyleigh were Butterflies, Cameron was a doggie, and Aspen was a chicken. And our yearly tradition is to go to Mrs. Nelson's house, which is Dustin's old Science teacher from Jr. High.

Family Pictures

So I finally got around to touching up these family photos and there were so many that I loved so I narrowed it down to a mere 32 photos. I love all of these pictures I am so glad that we were able to get some fall colors in the pictures. And a big THANKS to our neighbor Kelly who helped us take the group picture!
